Widows

In many cultures, widows are condemned to a lifetime reserved to honor a dead husband, unless they are young and forced to remarry. Sadly, second nuptials are still looked at with disapproval in some cultures…Widowers are expected to remarried if they are young or have small children, they are in need of a “maid.” Men are expected to keep on living…women are expected to be suspended in time…After a lifetime, why stop living? Freedom …a new beginning…travels, adventures, in charge of their own lives, sometimes for the first time…forget the rigorous mourning, what we feel is inside, no need for false and meaningless shows …be alive, explore life…Being judged for not loving the departed is ridiculous…we give in life, after death there is no going back, no reconnection, just a memory, good or bad, loving or hateful…just a memory… imagine existing just waiting, hopping to be together again…with whom…what if ….there is nothing more than this… wasted time just existing, occupying a space, never living… endless anger, useless, sadness, loneliness, depression….
